I'll email you a link to the download page once it is setup in case you want to add to your website. Don't know what's going on there because it worked great otherwise.ĭidn't expect such a fast response but see below Probably won't use PAL at the moment though if there's a chance that the messages will show up at the end.

If I can't get the registry thing happening I'll have to leave the long winded code in. I don't know whether that was because it's the OS language or because the app defaults to it (the options page suggests the latter).Īnyway, thanks for helping, I'll have another crack at it tomorrow. I set the menu to Vietnamese to try and the app just went into English. PAL still needs some testing, I'm really not sure jet how it will behave if the language (used on PAM) doesn't exist for PDFXCview. I'll give it another go, perhaps I just made a mistake somewhere. I never tried writing it to the file as it made more sense to just bash it straight into the registry before launch (bash=technical term LOL). Re: the languages, I checked "launcher.ini" and the docs for the plugin and I'm sure your first example was exactly what I was using but it just appeared in the registry 'as is' so the app didn't recognize it.

Yeah, that's what I thought, I just wondered if there was a reason to save it that I'd missed (as I missed it entirely first time round).

I've never had the debug messages, actually I was still wondering how to switch it to do so ? If I find out, I get back to you about this.īut it should be backed-up if already existing Or when PAM isn't used at all, etc.īut, speaking for my self, I think it's time to support Chris with PAL. WriteINIStr "$SETTINGSDIRECTORY\PDF-XChangeViewerPortable.reg" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFViewer\International" "LocaleID" "$OUTPUTDIRECTORY"īTW: The way I done it with PAL still needs some testing, I'm really not sure jet how it will behave if the language (used on PAM) doesn't exist for PDFXCview. I couldn't get PAL to do so (jet)Ībout the language switching, have a look in the launcher.ini, what it does is just writing a dword registry value, so it gets sort of converted automatically. I wouldn't think there is need to actually save the key, but it should be backed-up if already existing, and not left behind if it didn't exist before. This was for Dutch, you can probably get the launcher to read the language. HKCU\Software\Tracker Software\PDFViewer\International\LocaleID: 0x00000413
G PDF XCHANGE VIEWER PORTABLE
I'll do some more testing and keep you informed.Īnyway, did you try contacting the developer, to ask what his portable version of PDF-XchangeViewer does to create this ( REALLY AWKWARD) settings file ? Still you could have a small chance it would be possible.

But even if it did, the installed version uses the registry heavily. But the installer can't be extracted by 7-zip. It is one of the real horrible settings files, I just can't figure out at all how it is saving anything in this file and I tried several approached ! (sorry)Īs well I thought maybe it would be an option to use the installer, instead of the portable version. I had a look at the settings file, for the drive switching. Still can't figure out how it saves the path and language settings :-(

ZIP file directory structure has changed so files were extracted to wrong location. Language and drive switching added thanks to Gringoloco :-)
